The caste of Prince is the second highest ranking male caste. It refers to a jeweled male who was born into this caste and as such, they are guaranteed a jewel when it comes time for their Birthright Ceremony. They are higher in the caste hierarchy than Blood Males, Blood Females, Warlords, witches, and Hearth witches, though they are equal in status to a Priestess or a Healer. Princes tend to be a bit more aggressive and territorial than Warlords are and as such, they are often quicker to anger because of it. They tend to rise to the killing edge faster than a Warlord might, but they will back off when in the presence of a Warlord Prince. They do suffer from rut but they will only experience it once or twice a decade.
