Wikia How-To

As not everyone has contributed to a wiki page before, and because we have specific templates to use in order to keep everything looking the same, we have decided to create a quick how-to guide in the hopes of helping to make this process easier for everyone. If you have any questions that are not answered in this guide, please post a comment on the Q&A page.

Create an Account

To create an account on the wikia, simply follow the steps below. 1. Click the "Sign up" link in the upper right hand corner. 2. Fill out the username, email, password, birthdate, and blurry word, then click the Create Account button. 3. Once you have finished the account creation, the next thing you will want to do is work on your profile page. To access your profile, simply copy this address into your browser and change YOURUSERNAMEHERE to your username. http://mtdbm.wikia.com/wiki/User:YOURUSERNAMEHERE 4. Click on the "Edit Profile" button to enter in whatever information you wish to include in your profile. Feel free to just copy and paste your OOC Registration Form if that is what you want to do.

Create a Character Page

To create a character page on the wikia, simply follow the steps below. 1. Click the "Contribute" button in the upper right hand corner and then click on "Add a Page". 2. Enter the title of your page in the box (i.e. Nikole D'Aubergine) and then select "Blank Page" before clicking on the "Add a Page" button in the bottom right corner of the pop-up window. 3. Once it brings up the page edit window, enter the categories into the category section. The first category you will need to link is "Characters." The second category you will need to link is the character's caste (i.e. Black Widow). If they are a Dual Caste or a Triple Caste, please link to the one that matches and not the actual caste. Once done entering categories, click the Source tab at the top. 4. Copy and paste the Character Page Template from the templates page into the body section. Then edit all of the parts that need editing (they'll all be IN CAPS) and click the "Publish" button.

Create a Territory/Province/District Page

To create a character page on the wikia, simply follow the steps below. 1. Click the "Contribute" button in the upper right hand corner and then click on "Add a Page". 2. Enter the title of your page in the box, with Category: in front of it (i.e. Category:Dhemlan, Terreille) and then select "Blank Page" before clicking on the "Add a Page" button in the bottom right corner of the pop-up window. 3. Once it brings up the page edit window, enter the categories into the category section. If it is a Territory Information page, you will want to link it to the "Terreille" or the "Kaeleer" category. If it is a Province Page, you will want to link it to the Territory (i.e. Dhemlan, Terreille) that it is located in. If it is a District Page, you will want to link it to the Province (i.e. Ille-et-Antoine Province) that it is located in. Once done entering categories, click the Source tab at the top. 4. Copy and paste the Territory/Province/District Page Template from the templates page into the body section. Then edit all of the parts that need editing and click the "Publish" button.
